Summer has been really good for early morning Tarpon, fair for Bonefish and Permit and excellent for catching up with family and friends! As we head toward Labor Day and the fall season, we are anxious to tackle more Bonefish and Permit along with the resident Tarpon here in the Keys waters.
Next year's Tarpon season is filling up fast, so be sure to email or call Capt. Dexter ASAP to get your spot.

Tarpon Season, 2010 will go down as one of the best for the worm hatch, IF YOU WERE IN THE RIGHT PLACE AT THE RIGHT TIME! Early season was good, middle season was better, late season was also good, if you could get them to eat!
This is Grand Slam season here in the Keys, so if we can coax you away from the Tarpon bite, then the Permit and Bonefish are also available. He quickly recovered however, and scrambled to clear the extra fly line to the reel. What seemed like an eternity took only seconds, as the fish ran at least two hundred yards across the flat, maybe two-fifty, before slowing down..."

"...As we approach the Southeast flats of Marquesa, I am reminded of last night's strategy session at Turtle Kraals. I'll call out the clock position and distance in feet to the fish. When the Permit is within your range, cast the fly so it lands a foot or two in front of him or upcurrent of him. Reacting quickly with your cast is essential, as it takes only a few seconds to spook the fish or to lose your shot. So, try to limit yourself to one false cast at the most..."
